Gary developed his agency production skills during a fifteen-year career at J. Walter Thompson, rising to the position of Executive Producer on such global brands as Burger King, Miller Beer, Kodak, Warner Lambert and DeBeers.
He then declared his independence and struck out on his own. Working on Budweiser Super Bowl spots, Coke International and Verizon. But, perhaps more importantly in these modern times, he has also demonstrated a particular talent for getting the maximum out of extremely tight budgets. Evidence is his work for Bugle Boy Jeans, Ricoh Copiers and, most recently, launching fashion website Bluefly.com Integrated Campaign (site development, OOH, video content, on-line ads, and special events).
In the process, he’s won every major industry award – from MOMA to Cannes – and has worked with such gifted directors as Noam Murro, Michael Haussman, Kevin Thomas, Michael Bay and many others.
Gary plays a vital role in orchestrating all aspects of the creative process. “The main thing I try to do is to take the ‘drama’ out of production for the agencies,” Bass says. “I go between. I smooth egos. I champion contributions from all. I try to make it look effortless.”
Gary lives in Manhattan with his two sons. In his spare time he likes to pull hamstrings while playing basketball.
